A Comprehensive Vision and Approach
Since its creation in 2008, the Foundation has been committed to addressing the constantly evolving needs and challenges affecting our region. Its main objective is to contribute to the achievement of sustainable development that allows our societies to progress towards a more prosperous common destiny. We conceive this development as an equitable pursuit, based on respect for the environment and diversity, supported by new technologies from a humanistic perspective, with the purpose of generating well-being for both present and future generations.

Authorities
Mario Montoto
President of the TAEDA Foundation and TAEDA Publishing House

He leads these specialized entities in organizing events and seminars addressing global strategic issues such as natural resources, technology, and sustainable development with technological innovation. Additionally, he is responsible for the DEF Magazine, a monthly publication covering topics of Latin American interest related to regional growth, environment, energy, defense, public security, science, and technology.
Throughout his career, he also serves as the President of the Argentine-Israeli Chamber of Commerce. Moreover, Montoto is a shareholder in various companies developing solutions and systems, applying technology to public safety and defense.
Gustavo Gorriz
Vice President of the TAEDA Foundation and Director of TAEDA Publishing House

He also serves as the editor of DEF Magazine. All the entities he is a part of are committed to integrating the region and initiating discussions on sensitive topics to improve our living conditions and create a responsible future for new generations. Additionally, he has participated in several foundations with similar goals and has been the editor responsible for more than 30 books with TAEDA and other organizations.
He is a retired Colonel of the Argentine Army, a Staff Officer, and in this institution, among other roles, he served for years in the General Secretariat of the Army, was a presidential aide, and the commander of the Patricios Regiment. Since 2005, he has been fulfilling the mentioned roles in TAEDA.

Fabián Calle
Director of International Affairs

He holds a degree in Political Science (UBA), specialized in International Economic Strategy (Faculty of Economic Sciences, UBA), a Master’s in International Relations (FLACSO), a Master’s in International Relations (Università di Bologna), and completed specializations at the National Defense University in Washington DC and in counterterrorism at the Marshall Center in Germany. He is a PhD candidate in History (UTDT).
He is a professor at UCA, UCEMA, and Austral University, and has previously taught at the Universitá di Bologna, UBA, Joint Armed Forces War College, UTDT, Universidad Siglo XXI, and ISEN. He is the Director of the Institute for International Security and Strategic Affairs at CARI. Since December 2023, he has been an advisor to the Ministry of Defense of the Argentine Republic.
Douglas Farah
Advisor on transnational crime - Washington

He is a researcher and lecturer with extensive experience as a foreign correspondent and investigative reporter in war zones and armed conflicts around the world. He is the author of dozens of academic studies and two books. He serves as the president of IBI Consultants, LLC, a security consulting firm specializing in field research, security challenges, and transnational organized crime in Latin America.
He works with the U.S. government (Department of Defense, Department of State), leading think tanks (CSIS, Atlantic Council), and the private sector. Farah was the lead researcher at the Center for Strategic Research at the National Defense University.
Daniel Fernando Karlsson
Secretary

He is a national and international consultant on Project Management and Execution, State Reform, and Process Reengineering; comprehensive financing management through Multilateral Credit Organizations’ programs; and team coordination for the implementation of Integrated Government Management Systems.
He is a specialist in topics related to Educational Management, particularly in Administration and Sector Financing reforms. He also has extensive experience in hospital management reforms and Integrated Health Management Systems.
Federico Dolfijs
Treasurer

He is an entrepreneur, leading companies related to logistics, sustainable mobility, and recycling.
He was an officer in the Argentine Army, specializing in intelligence and IT. He served in the Ceremonial and Protocol Department of the Patricios Regiment. He pursued university studies at the National University of Tres de Febrero. He has also participated in other foundations as head of administration and finance.
Maia Bornsztein
Coordinator

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies from the Torcuato Di Tella University and a Master’s degree in Security and Diplomacy from Tel Aviv University, where she is a fellow at the Irwin Cotler Institute for Democracy, Human Rights, and Justice. She complements her education with courses in public diplomacy and leadership, along with experiences in academic research projects. Additionally, she is part of the New Generations program of the World Jewish Congress.
